
My season is pretty much done, only the Cardiff half marathon in a couple of weeks to finish it off. This year I have logged the least amount training in 20yrs, maybe longer. Thankfully I'v got those years of miles banked and quiet a variety of experinces to draw on.
My racing has been ok, not as fast as I have been, but I wasn't expecting pb's this year. I was hoping that I was going to be faster at Challenge Roth, but I executed the day well, leaving nothing in the tank and 9hr29 was what it gave me. Bala Standard followed and a 13th place in 2.01:19. The biggest thing I have noticed is that I am running a fair bit slower than I have in previous years, whilst my swimming (on two sessions a week) and biking are relatively similar.
So once the half marathon is done, it will be time to find my faster running legs. I have not made my racing plans for next year. I'm thinking short and fast to start the season and an end of year iron distance race on a fast course, sub 9hr is still tormenting me.
